Boys Advanced

  • For Boys only
  • Attention! Need to have mastered Intermediate class skills or have a coach’s recommendation to enroll in this level
  • 1.0 or 1.5 hour class
  • Max 9 students per class

Structure

As usual, a warm up and stretching begins each class followed by a few of the events and ending with conditioning. However, every aspect of the class will become more difficult from the warm up and stretching to the skills on each individual event. Conditioning will help develop the muscle groups important for gymnastics progression.  The skills on each event will become more difficult such as a round-off back-handspring and front-handspring on the floor and a handspring and straddle through on the vault...(see skill evaluation chart for details)

Objective

Boys Advanced is the last level of Men’s recreational Gymnastics. Boys Advanced is a challenging class designed to perfect previous skills on rings, pommel horse, parallel bars, high bar, vault, and tumbling and learn more advanced skills. As the class progresses the students will become stronger, faster and more aware of proper techniques for the skills. This class gives proper instruction for boys interested in continuing gymnastics and possibly entering competitive gymnastics.

Accomplishment

We do evaluate students in this class. The actual Poster for this level is available in the office after you sign for the class.  Progress reports are provided to students and family after evaluation dates, followed by our Poster Skill Reward System. Each time an evaluation is done for the class, each student will receive a record of accomplishments and this record will be available for review at our website under My Account / View Skills.  After all required skills are mastered and endorsed by the coach, the student/family will receive a Recommendation Letter to move to the next level class.

Note: The school retains records on the progress of each student to assist in class placement in future sessions. If you’re concerned and need a second opinion you can schedule a personal evaluation for your student. By appointment only!  Please call to the office for availability.
