Blue is the intermediate level of Women’s recreational artistic gymnastics. Once all of the Pink skills are mastered, Blue is the next step. Class is designed to challenge the students with more difficult skills on each event. Every aspect of the class will become more difficult from the warm up and stretching to the skills introduced on all 4 women’s individual events. This class helps increase confidence, flexibility, and stamina which are important for any athlete. GRACE / STRENGTH – TO LAST A LIFE TIME
The warm up and stretching begin the class in order to prepare for the rest of the work-out. Conditioning ends each workout. Each event will become progressively more difficult to help the students excel in gymnastics. Tumbling: cartwheel snap down, right and left cartwheel with one arm, backbend pull up with straight arms, and bridge kick over. Bars: back hip circle, glide swing, and pike hold. Beam: squat walk, Arabesque, handstand fall to cheese mat, walks and turns in releve. Vault: scoop drills, squat, pike, and straddle onto horse. Intermediate Dance skills: assemble, right and left split leap, half turn and arabesque. For complete set of skills see skill evaluation chart.
We do evaluate students in this class. The actual Poster for this level is available in the office after you sign for the class. Progress reports are provided to students and family after evaluation dates, followed by our Skill Reward System. Each time an evaluation is done for the class, each student will receive a record of her accomplishments. This record will be available for review at our website under My Account / View Skills. After all required skills are mastered and endorsed by the coach, the student/family will receive a Recommendation Letter to move to the next level class.
Note: The school retains records on the progress of each student to assist in class placement in future sessions. If you’re concerned and need a second opinion, you can schedule a personal evaluation for your student. By appointment only! Please call to the office for availability.
