Green is the advanced level of Women’s recreational artistic gymnastics. It is the last level of recreational classes for girls before they begin the USA Gymnastics Federation’s Level I program. Green is a challenging class designed to perfect old skills on vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise, and dance and learn new advanced skills. At this level, self-discipline and internal motivation become emerging benefits for the athlete. This class gives proper instruction for girls interested in continuing gymnastics and possibly entering competitive gymnastics. BUILD HEALTHY BODY FOUNDATION FOR LIFE.
The coaches do a longer warm up and stretching to increase stamina and flexibility and conditioning is more rigorous to build up strength. Each previous skill is perfected while new skills are still being introduced. Tumbling; handstand to bridge, dive roll, and dive cartwheel. Bars; pullover on high bar, squat on low, and kip prep. Beam; front, side and back kicks, jumps switch legs, and side handstand on low beam. Vault; pike, squat and straddle on with straight jump off and stick landing. Advanced Dance skills; scale and split leap both at 90 degrees. For complete set of skills see skill evaluation chart. As the class progresses the students will become stronger, faster and more aware of proper techniques for the skills.
We do evaluate students in this class. The actual Poster for this level is available in the office after you sign for the class. Progress reports are provided to students and family after evaluation dates, followed by our Skill Reward System. Each time an evaluation is done for the class, each student will receive a record of her accomplishments. This record will be available for review at our website under My Account / View Skills. After all required skills are mastered and endorsed by the coach, the student/family will receive a Recommendation Letter to move to the next level class.
Note: The school retains records on the progress of each student to assist in class placement in future sessions.
If you’re concerned and need a second opinion, you can schedule a personal evaluation for your student. By appointment only! Please call to the office for availability.
